You are creating the concept for a play from your stimulus.
There are 3 sections (A,B,C).
Section A is a 250 word pitch
Section B contains loads ofvisual stuff about your potential play
(Only for HL) Section C is an Essay on your play.
You should have:
Table of Contents
Basically you have to do a 250 word pitch, summerizing your overall concept for the play. It should include, the space you intend to use, who's your audience, whats the outline of the play/performance, are there any themes? What does the set, and lighting look like?
Then it is followed by Section B- This is huge. There should be information on the history or background you're reasearching. If its easter islands- have pictures of where that is, some folklore behind it- are there some myths that stand out to you? persue that and get more details from that. There can be a Spider-diagram with all your ideas on it. There should be entire pages dedicated to a couple of examples of what the costumes would look like, try to have sketch of what the stage would look like. Have photos (with their sources underneath or in footnote form) giving examples of what you want. There can be a mood-board with pictures cut out and stuck on that should express the overall ideas and look of the play. And a collage for a character, or a costume is a great idea too. Some people in our class also did a bit of storyboarding as to how it would be staged. Try and do as many of these things as possible. Then in Section C, you have to write an indepth essay about your play. Stating the stimulus you chose (or were given) and how it influenced you, and the route you persued.
These sections should be clearly titled at the top of each page.
Again, this is just how we did it, and I dunno if the syllabus has changed since 2009, but I think its basically the same.
